Who can be an ARIN Adult Education Student?

Individuals must be separated from the public school system and score lower than college level on ARIN's TABE Test (Test of Adult Basic Education - given by ARIN Center for Education).

All of our classes and materials are free of charge.


Do you give the GED test?

Yes, ARIN Center for Education is now a certified GED Testing Center. Please watch our website for testing dates. Also Armstrong School District usually gives the test 3 times per academic school year.


How much does the GED test cost?

The cost of the GED test varies. The range is usually $60 to $100.


How will I know when I'm ready to take the test?

Your teacher will help you determine that. We will give you the official Practice GED Test and the scores will determine if you are ready.


What's on the GED test?

There are 5 tests: Language Arts Writing (which includes an essay), Social Studies, Science, Language Arts, Reading and 2 sections of Math. A calculator is permitted on the second section of the math test. Calculators are furnished at the testing site.


If I don't pass the first time, can I take it again and do I have to take the whole test again?

Yes and No. Yes, you can take the test 3 times in one calendar year. No, you only need to retest the ones that you didn't pass. Only your highest scores will count.


Can anyone take the test?

The GED candidate must be a PA resident and be at least 18 years old and not enrolled in school. Persons 16 to 18 years of age may take the test if they have a written request from an employer, institution of higher learning, or an armed forces recruiting officer.
