Autism Awareness Event at ARIN IU 28

In recognition of Autism Awareness month, ARIN IU 28 will host “Strategies and Solutions across the Spectrum:  An Autism Awareness Event” on Friday, April 4, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the ARIN Central Office (2895 West Pike, Indiana, PA 15701).

The event seeks to promote increased awareness of the characteristics and needs of individuals with autism in our schools and our community, as well as to spotlight resources and services available through ARIN.

In the morning, members of ARIN’s Training and Consultation (TaC) team will conduct informational sessions to share strategies and resources to meet the needs of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).  Families, educators, caretakers, providers and the public are encouraged to attend, and no registration is required.

Parents of children with ASD are then invited to network during a free luncheon from 12:15 p.m.-1:00 p.m. – registration is requested by April 1 (contact Danielle Patterson at 724-463-5300, ext. 1240, or dpatterson@iu28.org).  Each parent in attendance will receive a chance to win a door prize.
